We need some popular honesty to stop the EDL and Anders-thinkalikes
If i stayed on in the UK for a couple of years more, i’d probably get British citizenship. But if i was to do so, would i be thanking the Brit government, or the British people for according me this status.? Certainly not. Why? Because this country owes me, and all the descendants of those states which Britain, amongst other states like France, Germany, the U.S. Spain, Portugal, etc, colonised.

All this whining for winehouse
‘Music world mourns loss of Amy Winehouse’. ‘Amy joins iconic stars who died at 27’....etc, etc. etc.
Just because she died at 27 like Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin, doesn’t make her the same calibre mate.

Anders Breivik, a child of the European Union
"Anders Behring Breivik, 32, admitted to carrying out both attacks, which he described as "gruesome but necessary".
At least 93 people were killed in the attacks - 96 have been injured and some are still missing.
Memorial services are being held across the country, including at the main Lutheran cathedral in Oslo. - bbc"
I have said for quite a while that the EU is a racialist concept.
A racialist, as opposed to a racist, is one who likes to be amongst her/is own without necessarily viewing different others as inferior. However, it can easily be argued that racialism produces racism - where one prefers one's 'own' for no significant reason, it can lead to a view of different others as inferior in others not abiding by 'our' norm. This would especially be the case where such a group becomes dominant in numbers or socio-economic status.

corpCon: Is Lovefilm screwing Royal Mail and You
note: you may think that this has got nothing to do with you if you aren’t or weren’t a Lovefilm subscriber. But it is still relevant all the same when you consider how ‘good business sense’ is not dissimilar to ‘dishonesty’, ‘misinformation’, and ‘cunning’.
In that, studying the ‘good business sense’ of one company is an effort to protect oneself from the ‘good business sense’ of governments, corporations - and in ed’s case, my ‘friends’ as well - globally.’ Consumer awareness is a part of Political awareness. Shirk one, and you’ll become an easier victim in the other. Principles are cross-applicable. “Ignorance may be bliss, but it doesn’t absolve you from its consequences.” - ed. So read on.

post 11/9 hate killer executed for being American

| Speaking before his execution, Mark Stroman described hate as "pure ignorance" |
Mark Stroman, 41, died by lethal injection despite last-minute representations by his lawyer at the US Supreme Court. bbc”
Firstly. Only those whom are ignorant, self-absorbed, and stupid, support the death penalty - generally, that’s the progressive order of self-underdevelopment - and you’re no friend of ed’s. That said, on to the issue at hand.

A Letter from a Deconfucianised Chinese
The following is a mail received from what I would consider an enlightened Chinese. Most impressive. Most impressive indeed.
Hey Ed,
I was born in a Hokkien/Mandarin-speaking family. Before I first entered into primary education, my parents had always spoken to my siblings and me in Hokkien. Despite that, I couldn’t speak even a proper sentence until the age of 7 when I first learnt English and Mandarin at school. This is certainly telling about my linguistic ability at that point in time. I guess that was the time when my socialisation began. From then on, I was taught on various ‘Confucian’ qualities and values, such as not to talk too much, to study hard so as to get good grades and have a ‘good future’, to be obedient to the authorities, etc etc, as what many other Chinese families in Singapore would do.

Are the english-speaking Chinese more egalitarian?
The following is a statement by a commenter on the neo-nazi site, Temasek Review beneath the article, 'If Indians are having more babies, then is it our mistake?'. (comment link) (Her/is caps lock must be jammed. I don't understand why some people do this. Perhaps they think they'd get more attention by capitalising everything. That wouldn't be achieved as it just makes it more difficult to read. Silly gits. But quite good points though.)
"Till this day, There is still widespread discrimination by Chinese companies (Thankfully, not The English-Educated Chinese)."

How they should end the Alien/Predator Series
Whilst I was watching ‘Predators’ last night, I was thinking that the best way that this series might be ended, which itself can be a start of another series, is to add meaning to the reason why the ‘Predators’ keep going around picking fights with various species. How?

The Office, a 'fake reality' show? What rubbish.
“Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's fictional creation centred on the lives of workers of a humdrum suburban company in Slough.
Filmed in the style of a fly-on-the-wall documentary, the programme was unnervingly realistic and could be difficult to watch.
But its raw comedy value - led by Gervais as hapless central character David Brent - helped the show to a clutch of Bafta awards and a Golden Globe in the US.
The formula has been successfully exported around the globe, with many countries giving it their own local flavour. - bbc”
‘The worst comedy ever made’, Is what I thought when I first watched it some years ago in a gym in HK. So thought a British lady as well who was on the exercise bike.
Why?

A bronzed capitalist pig is erected in London, and a bit about Communism
Unbelievable. Just when the working class in Britain is undergoing an onslaught by the toffs running the country, a capitalist pig gets bronzed in London. To me, Ronald Reagan was an idiot. But then again, that’s to be expected when it comes to American presidents. As the saying goes, a people are known by the government, or president, its hoists above its head.

On 'new foreigners coming to singapore for money'
temasek review - If indians are having more babies then is it our mistake?
Yes, many of the new foreigners are coming to singapore for money. But what do you think the ancestors of the 'native-born' chinese and indians came here for? The view from mount Faber? A swim in the singapore river? Mee Goreng? (malay fried noodle dish) They came here for the money too. Yes they made it their homes. So if that makes it alright. Then perhaps the xenophobes and racists should be inviting these new foreigners to make singapore their homes right?

ed does not support the ordination of homosexual bishops or priests
Firstly, no. I’m not homophobic. But one does not have to be homophobic to be against the ordination of bishops or priests. If you’re inclined to get it up for a same-sex individual, that’s your business, and that’s not going to stop me from being your friend, employing you, or giving you equal opportunities in all other arenas as your sexual orientation ought not to impact on your performance in such arenas.

repost: Syed Alwi 'Little India' racist tourist information board
When I first came across this sign about a year ago - and to which I've alluded to in this site intermittently - I was thoroughly taken aback. I kept silent and directed a couple of local Chinese mates whom were with me to take a look at it. After they had read through it, I asked them what they thought about it and if they saw anything amiss. They looked at me as if wondering why I would ask such a question. I smiled, and asked, "What place is this?" "Little India", they responded. "And the information here is about whom?" After a few seconds, as the British would say, 'the pin dropped', and they got it.

Is singapore a tyranny, or are people to dumbed down to feel it?
The following is a consideration of the perspective posted at the site, 'article14'. The site, in discussing the so-called 'Black Sunday movement' whose members wear black and congregate at Starbucks - perhaps they have an unstated desire to boost Starbucks sales of overpriced beverages, or perhaps Starbucks is paying for their black garments...silly people - to express their support for the freedom of expression - brought up certain points that seem to be commonly held by the 'singaporeans' of today.
