Further thoughts on the London anti-cuts demo
Tell me. If the police did a 100% job in policing demos. If they kept peace. If they protected the shops. If they protected a royal motorcade and prevented some privileged chick from being prodded with a stick or something. If they did not provoke a scuffle, and perhaps a fight, with the demonstrators, how on earth are they going to promote the view that the intention of a demonstration is as sullied as the actions of ‘mindless thugs’ amongst the demonstrators? Thus, we can say, When the police don’t do a good job in demos, they are doing a great job.

An alternative to protests and violence
Damn Microsoft. If they hadn’t blocked my email account, i would have received information on the protests in London yesterday, and would certainly have enlisted.

the London Olympics...Yawwwwn!

| Olympics 'countdown clock' @ Trafalgar Sq. |
I read quite a few of the comments on the BBC site with regards to the Olympics, and thankfully, there are quite a few comments there indicating that commonsense is not disproportionately underrepresented in the UK (as it is in the Confucian state of singapore).

Ahhh, these child-molesting Catholic Priests
Twenty-one priests in the US city of Philadelphia have been suspended after being named in an inquiry into claims of widespread child molestation. - bbc
Well, i can imagine people going on about how Catholic priests get an ‘inclination’ over choir boys; how they should be allowed to get married, or perhaps, one of the criteria for being a priest should be that he ought to be fruitfully married (have kids). Well, i’ve heard such jokes and allusions often enough in British comedies, amongst others.

What the ipad 2 has in common with a high society whore
Well, Steve Jobs and his capitalist cronies have done it again - An ipad without an inbuilt USB slot or memory card slot. This makes his posterior a perfect fit for my metal-heeled cowboy boots, methinks.

My great respects to the Blacks of america. On Racism
What the Blacks did in America wasn’t what women did when the latter fought for equality. They didn’t become white in persona and demand equality on the basis of similitude, but demanded that they not just be tolerated but appreciated and respected for being Black. That is the essence of Black Power, and all fight for equality. And we owe a debt of gratitude to them for teaching us that.
